1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is NetBoosting GmbH, Zeilweg 44, 60439 Frankfurt am Main, Germany, email: hello@silbenwald.de.

2. What data we process — and why

Ordering a story: To create a wish story we process your email address and the details you provide about the story (first name or made-up name of the child, age group, occasion, theme, chosen voice, optional free-text details). The legal basis is performance of the contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).

Note on details about children: A real name is never required for creation — a made-up name works just as well. We recommend not entering any sensitive information in the free-text field. The details are used solely to create the ordered story, not for advertising purposes relating to the child, and are not passed on to third parties for their own purposes.

Newsletter / free story: Sign-up uses a double opt-in procedure (confirmation link by email). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email.

Server logs and security: When you visit the website, our servers process technically necessary data (IP address, time, page accessed) to provide and secure the service (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We do not use any tracking or marketing cookies; only technically necessary browser storage is used.

Audience measurement: To understand which pages are found and used, we record page views with the time, the path requested and — where present — the referring website or campaign identifier. So that related views can be attributed to a single visit, our server derives a pseudonymous identifier from the IP address, browser identification and a value that changes daily. This identifier is not stored on your device, never leaves our server, changes every day and does not allow you to be identified. We use no cookies and no storage in your browser for this, and we pass nothing on to third-party analytics providers. In addition, we store the IP address and a shortened browser identification with each recorded event in order to detect and prevent abuse (for example repeated use of free services). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in designing and securing our service (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR); no access to terminal equipment within the meaning of § 25 TDDDG takes place. Retention: these records are deleted automatically after one year.

3. Recipients and processors

To provide our service we use the following service providers, with whom — where required — data processing agreements are in place and, for transfers to third countries, the safeguards of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR (in particular EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) apply:

Hosting: Railway Corp. (USA) — operation of the website, application and database. · Email delivery: Resend (USA, EU region) — sending order and confirmation emails. · Media storage: Cloudinary Ltd. — storage and delivery of the audio files. · AI creation: Anthropic (USA) for text creation and Replicate (USA) for speech synthesis — only the story details needed for creation are transmitted to these services (e.g. first name/made-up name, theme), no contact data. · Payment: Stripe or PayPal — for paid orders the payment service providers process your payment data under their own responsibility; we do not receive complete payment data.

4. Amazon affiliate programme

We participate in the Amazon EU affiliate programme. On individual pages (e.g. device guides) we link to products on Amazon; these links are marked as advertising. If you click such a link, Amazon sets its own cookies on amazon.de to attribute the purchase to our affiliate account. You only leave our website when you click; no cookies are set on our own site for this. Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l. is responsible for processing on amazon.de.

5. Retention period

We store order and invoice data within the statutory retention obligations (up to 10 years). Download links are valid for at least 24 months; we keep created stories so that we can offer you repeat downloads and pronunciation corrections. We store newsletter data until you withdraw your consent. On request we delete your story details and created content — write to us at hello@silbenwald.de.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — the authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

7. Obligation to provide data

Providing your email address and the story details is required for the order — without them we cannot create and deliver the story. All other details are voluntary.
